Our 7-day Walking Safari Retreat is collaboration between Tanzanite Travels and Tsala Trails that
aims to reconnect women with the Earth and with themselves through yoga, meditation, life coaching, walking safaris and the raw power of the South African bush.
Explore 6000 hectares of bushveld along the North and South banks of the Olifants River. Balule and Mvuu Game Reserves are home to 336 tree species, 220 birds and over 30 species of mammals, including the Big 5, hyenas, cheetah, wild dog and more! The undulating granite hills and sandy plains of Balule and Mvuu Game Reserves are ideal for those not looking for more than a moderate walking challenge.
Airport transfer from Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport is included. Transfers can be arranged between Hoedspruit and OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg for an additional fee.

Mid-morning: check-in at Bundox River Lodge in the far north of Balule Game Reserve. Inaugurate the retreat with a meditation session on the lodge deck.
Afternoon: have lunch, unwind and enjoy an afternoon at the pool overlooking the Olifant’s River
Late afternoon: go for a sunset game drive
Evening: gather around the fire at the riverside boma to celebrate the start of the retreat. Have dinner together and toast to the week ahead.
Early morning: sunrise yoga session followed by breakfast at the lodge
Morning: embark on an exploratory full-day walking safari
Midday: group meditation followed by a rest stop and lunch in
the bush
Mid-afternoon: walk to sleepout spot in the bushveld
Early evening: cook food over a fire and enjoy campfire tales
Evening: wind down to the nocturnal sounds of the bush and fall asleep under the stars as guests take turns being on lookout
Early morning: climb out of your sleeping bags for a seated stretch as the tea and coffee heats up on the fire
Late morning: drive or walk back from the sleepout spot to the lodge for a well-deserved brunch
Afternoon: group yoga session at the boma
Late afternoon: go for a walk along the river and practice manifestation before having sundowners by the water
Evening: have dinner at the lodge
Early morning: go for a walking safari with a standing yoga practice in the bush
Mid morning: have breakfast at the lodge and pack. Check-out of Bundox River Lodge and drive to Mvuu Game Reserve.
Midday: check-in to Sashwa River of Stars. Have a group breathwork session to settle in to this new environment before sitting down for lunch.
Afternoon: unwind and explore all the lodge amenities such as the infrared sauna, art studio and more
Early evening: sunset yoga session on the riverfront deck
Evening: have dinner together before going to bed
Morning: depart at first light for a riverside walk along the untamed Olifants River until midday
Midday: stop for a bush meditation and have lunch in the veld before walking back to the lodge
Afternoon: group yoga session
Late afternoon: visit Koru Camp
Evening: have dinner at Koru Camp with the students and then enjoy a nocturnal game drive back to Sashwa. Back at the lodge, do some astronomy with your guide.
Morning: have breakfast at the lodge
Midday: enjoy some activities with the students from Koru Camp.
Afternoon: group game drive with the students
Evening: candlelight yin yoga session before enjoying the last dinner of the retreat together
Early morning: go for one last short walk or early game drive
Morning: come back to the lodge for a closing ceremony. Have breakfast all together before checking out and saying goodbye... for now!
